A gorgeous doll and sagemon: Shizuku-chan from Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture: First Doll Festival

Around the time of the Girls' Festival, a newborn daughter was born in my family, and we celebrated our first Hinamatsuri.

In Yanagawa, when the first baby girl is born, a gorgeous doll and hanging ornaments are put up, and the Dolls' Festival is celebrated on March 3rd or April 3rd of the first day the baby is born.

People start making the hanging dolls as soon as they are born, and it takes six months to a year to complete them to celebrate the growth of their children or grandchildren, and then they display them together with the Hina dolls.

My grandchild was born in September, so I made the dolls on the side while working in the short space of six months, so they aren't as extravagant as those in Yanagawa, but we managed to make a very cute Hinamatsuri doll and the whole family was very happy.

I am sending you a small photo of my grandchild and the Hina dolls decorations that were used to celebrate the festival with my son's family.

Yanagawa's customs are amazing!
Although there is a tradition of "Tsurushibina" in Shizuoka Prefecture, where our company is located, we never imagined that they would become such an amazing product in just six months after they were first created! All the staff were filled with sighs and admiration.

I'm sure you all enjoyed a wonderful festival surrounded by the lovingly handmade hanging ornaments and carefully selected Hina dolls.

I think it is truly wonderful that we can continue to celebrate such enjoyable festivals every year.
