Hina dolls, May dolls and Hinamatsuri: Declaration to the SDGs: Peach Festival in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture

Hina dolls and May dolls: Declaration to the SDGs: Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture First festival - Dolls' festival dolls

A recent global trend is to move away from using gasoline.

Until recently, when we made Hina dolls, the paint used to smell so much like thinner that it was hard to work with.

Therefore, we have now renovated our workshop and tools to use water-based paints, so that they are safe even if babies put them in their mouths or lick them.

We will continue to do our best to ensure that you can handle your precious children's Hina dolls with peace of mind.

Hinamatsuri is approaching!

When you think of Hinamatsuri, many people probably think of Hina dolls dressed in colorful kimonos.

However, did you know that Hinamatsuri also plays an important role in declaring SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)?

Hinasei's Hina dolls are manufactured in accordance with the SDGs and with consideration for the environment.

Manufacturing in the Hina doll industry is also outdated, with manufacturing processes that are not in keeping with today's global environmental issues.

In particular, when coloring wooden Hina doll accessories, spray them with a thinner-based oil-based paint.

We have completely revamped this manufacturing method.

We have remodeled our tool and equipment workshop so that everything is done by Comet.

What are the SDGs in simple terms?

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are a set of goals aimed at addressing global issues.
These are 17 goals that the whole world should work together to achieve.

This includes ending poverty, improving health and well-being, and promoting clean energy.

These goals were established as guidelines for achieving a sustainable society.

What is the real purpose of the SDGs?

The true purpose of the SDGs is to promote the three pillars of economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection in an integrated manner.

Through this, we aim to create a society in which everyone has equal opportunities and improve the quality of people's lives while ensuring the sustainable use of the earth's resources.

Who created the SDGs?

The SDGs were created by the United Nations with the cooperation of countries, civil society, businesses, and academics from around the world.

Adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015, member states committed themselves to working to achieve these goals.

This will ensure that the entire international community has a common path towards a sustainable future.

Why are the SDGs important?

The SDGs provide a unified approach to the many challenges facing the world.

This will create a common framework for effectively addressing issues such as poverty, inequality and climate change.

These goals will also foster international cooperation and collaboration, helping to lay the foundations for a sustainable future.

What is the most important SDG?

All the SDGs are important, but
In particular, "End poverty" (Goal 1) and "Take urgent action on climate change" (Goal 13) are fundamental elements that influence many other goals.

Eradicating poverty improves access to education, health and equal opportunity, while tackling climate change is essential to protecting the environment and supporting sustainable economic growth.

How many of the 17 SDGs has Japan achieved?

Japan is promoting quality education (Goal 4);
Clean energy (Goal 7),
Progress has been made on several goals, including industry, innovation and infrastructure (Goal 9).

In particular, they have achieved results in areas such as the introduction of renewable energy and improving the quality of education.
Challenges such as climate change action and gender equality also remain.

What are the most serious problems with the SDGs?

One of the most serious problems is climate change.

Climate change will increase the frequency and intensity of natural disasters, with far-reaching impacts on agriculture, ecosystems and people's livelihoods.

It also has the potential to exacerbate poverty and inequality, calling for urgent action.
